Founded in 1887 as Troy State Normal School, Troy University is a 4-year public school in southeast Alabama and the flagship of the Troy University System. Troy is home to five colleges conferring undergraduate and graduate degrees in over 260 academic programs. For those interested in media studies and journalism, Troy hosts a student-run TV station called TROY Trojanvision and Troy University Public Radio. To provide a break from classes, the Troy campus features walking trails, an international arts center, two art galleries, and an amphitheater.
