Formerly known as Southwest Missouri State, Missouri State University is a 4-year public institution in southwest Missouri and the second largest university in the state by enrollment. The main campus of the MSU system, MSU Springfield is home to seven academic colleges conferring bachelor’s degrees as well as a graduate college. To ease the transition to college for First Year students, MSU holds Welcome Weekend featuring a family brunch and Belong-B-Q. For students looking to get involved in service projects, MSU oversees community programs such as Bears Bringing Hope which raises funds for victims of natural disasters.
